We help to produce events throughout the year to raise funds for and display artists from our community.
PreHeat (late Spring) and AfterBurn (late Fall) are fundraisers with proceeds directed to future art grants, land funds, and programs.
Based on the 10 Principles of Burning Man, these annual events draw participants from all over the world.
Events are based on an organizational structure similar to that of New Zealand’s KiwiBurn with volunteers filling roles of administrative staff, an executive committee, and an event operations committee. Departments of event volunteers provide operational logistics, from our community Rangers, to our gate teams, to our Leave No Trace (LNT) teams that ensure any property we visit is left in at least the same condition as we found it.
For federal income tax purposes, participants may deduct as a charitable contribution the price paid for each event ticket/invitation, minus its fair market value.
Moving down the street to Lake Wales, Florida, Afterburn 2019 will be held in November 1-3.
