Dear Participant,

We are currently working through all event-related pages to make sure information is up-to-date. If you're still seeing this message, please assume that this is information from last year and may change in the next couple of weeks. You should not see major changes, but dates will be updated and some policies will see minor clarification.

If you have questions, see something we need to fix, or want to get clarification on anything you read below, please email us.

Thank you for joining us, we can't wait to see you at Afterburn!

Our organization and events are completely run by volunteers! All the organizers, the artists, musicians, theme camps, everybody are all volunteers. No one is getting paid. This is our gift to the community and to each other.

We do it, because it needs to get done. This is a do-ocracy.

“A do-ocracy is an organizational structure in which individuals choose roles and tasks for themselves and execute them. Responsibilities attach to people who do the work, rather than elected or selected officials.”

Help Wanted

We need your help! Any capacity that you can help, would be a huge contribution. It's like crowd sourcing, except your contribution is real, and direct, and meaningful to you and the others who experience it. You can choose to volunteer before, during, or after the event or even throughout the year.

If you're an experienced burner and have some extra time, we'd love to consider having you join one of our event teams. If you haven't done much burning, or only have time while at the event, then please consider researching our different event teams to see where you fit, then sign up for a couple volunteer shifts within that team. Only because participants volunteer for shifts, are we able to have events. Unfortunately the opposite is also true.
