Greetings Burnt Oranges community! It’s almost June 1, and you know what that means? Hurricane season is upon us, so it’s time to get prepared. Last season was super rough for many members of our community, so we all know how important it is to get that checklist filled out. Fortunately we’re burners, so we’re already halfway there — gotta love our resourceful spirit.
Without further ado, here’s what you’ll find in this newsletter.
Burnt Oranges Board Member Changes Our leadership has undergone some big changes and we want to share them with the community. First, we wish to thank Melissa DuBois for her service on the Board of Directors. We wish her the best of luck in her new endeavors and are grateful for all of the time, energy, and knowledge she shared during her tenure.
We are excited to announce that there are two new members on the Board of Directors: Maiah Duck and Nahla Ulery. They have amazing credentials and are bringing their fresh ideas and energy to the table. Please join Carebare, Desja, and BobCat in welcoming them to Burnt Oranges leadership.
AfterBurn 2023: Important Dates to Know Curious about when tickets go on sale? Or are you wondering when you can register your theme camp? Perhaps you have ideas for submitting an art grant percolating and want to set a reminder for yourself. Fortunately all of our dates are up on our website. You can even pop into Ticket Tailor and sign up for the wait list for tickets there, too. Email Bob if you have any questions.
Burnable Art Submissions for Effigy and Temple Community may be the heart and soul of a burn, but burnable art like the Effigy and Temple are what make our events truly phenomenal. Burnable art submissions for Effigy and Temple open on Friday, June 2 and close on Friday, July 28, with funds disbursed by Friday, August 25. The application will be on the website under the art tab by Friday, June 2. Have an awesome idea but feel unsure about how to build or recruit a build team? No worries — we will help you through the process.
Thanks for reading… and for making art, supporting art, and being a part of our community! Feel free to send me any updates.
